Have you had the opportunity to experience the Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County summer event?
Mark your calendar for the 7th Annual Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County on Friday, July 30, 2027, at the Gilfillan Estate in Morgan, Minnesota.
This inspiring community event brings together cancer survivors, caregivers, families, and friends for an evening of hope, remembrance, and celebration while raising funds to support local cancer patients throughout Redwood County.
What is this event?
Formerly known as Relay For Life, the Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County event brings together individuals and families whose lives have been touched by cancer. It is an evening to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, support those currently fighting cancer, and raise funds to help local cancer patients throughout their journey.
The event begins with Survivor Registration and meal, followed by the Opening Ceremony. Each year, we proudly recognize and honor cancer survivors from across Redwood County.
There are many ways to be part of this special event:
- Survivors – Register to receive a commemorative survivor T-shirt and be recognized during the Opening Ceremony.
- Luminaries – Honor or remember a loved one by purchasing a luminary for a $10 donation.
- Volunteers – Lend a helping hand on the day of the event or throughout the year.
- Sponsors – Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals can help make a difference by becoming event sponsors.
- Attend – Bring your family and friends to enjoy an evening of community, hope, remembrance, and fun while supporting a meaningful cause.
Whether you participate as a survivor, volunteer, sponsor, or attendee, your involvement helps provide hope and financial assistance to local families facing cancer.
Bring Your Kids
As in years past, we invite the entire community—including children and families—to join us for this special evening. There will be activities for all ages, including games, family-friendly entertainment, treats, and more.
One of the evening's most meaningful traditions is the Luminary Walk, where people of all ages come together to honor loved ones, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost.
Bring your family and friends for an evening of hope, remembrance, community, and fun for everyone.
About the Organization
Kickin’ Cancer is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a subsidiary of the Redwood Area Communities Foundation. Our mission is to provide compassionate support and financial assistance to individuals battling cancer by raising funds locally and distributing them to residents throughout Redwood County.
Led by a volunteer Board of Directors and dedicated community volunteers, Kickin’ Cancer was founded by local residents who understand firsthand that a cancer diagnosis affects far more than a person's health. The financial, emotional, and practical challenges can be overwhelming. That's why every dollar raised stays local, helping our friends, neighbors, and families when they need it most.
Through our programs, we strive to provide hope, encouragement, and meaningful support:
- Financial Assistance Program – Helping eligible patients with expenses related to cancer treatment and care.
- Blessing Bags – Providing comfort items and gift cards to help ease the burden during treatment.
- Survivor Strong Program – Empowers cancer survivors to regain strength, improve wellness, and build confidence through complimentary fitness resources and healthy living opportunities.
- Survivor Social - Brings local cancer survivors together for a healthy meal, educational program, and the opportunity to connect with others who understand their journey.
At Kickin’ Cancer, we want every person facing cancer to know they are not alone. Together, with the support of our generous donors, volunteers, and community partners, we are making a difference—one family at a time.
