2025 Kickin’ Cancer Event

Have you gotten the chance to experience the Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County event during the summer? The 5th Annual Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County event will be held on August 1, 2025 at the Gilfillan Estates in Morgan, Minnesota.

What is this event?

Formerly Relay for Life, this Kickin’ Cancer in Redwood County event is held to bring together people whose lives have been touched by cancer. We use this time to celebrate life as well as other cancer survivors and raise funds to help people get through their cancer battles.

The event is kicked off with survivor registration and a Meal (funded by Orrin Estebo Foundation, catered by The Market) followed by the opening ceremony. Each year we honor survivors from throughout Redwood County.

Ways you can participate in the event:

Survivor - register and receive a Survivor tshirt and be recognized during the opening ceremony
Luminaries - Purchase a luminary in honor of your loved one
Volunteer - You can volunteer the day of or through out the year
Sponsor - Businesses, Organizations and Families can become a sponsor

Attend and join in on the fun!

Bring Your Kids

Just like in years past, we welcome everyone including your children! We will have popcorn, games, kids train rides, kids grab bags, ice cream, petting zoo and more.  People of all ages enjoy taking part in the luminaries walk. Come out for fun for all ages.

About the Organization

Kickin’ Cancer is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a subsidiary of the Redwood Area Communities Foundation. Our mission is to provide assistance to cancer patients with funds raised and distributed locally throughout Redwood County.

Kickin’ Cancer has a volunteer board of directors and many volunteers. Being residents of Redwood County and knowing firsthand the difficulties that cancer can bring to your life, beyond the treatments, we raise money locally and spend it locally. Our organization provides assistance to cancer patients through Blessings Bags and the Financial Assistance Program. We want our neighbors to know that they are not alone in this fight.

Volunteers Needed

In order to make this event a success, we need you! We are looking for assistance in the following areas for day of help:

  • sell t-shirts
  • sell luminaries
  • help take money
  • help with kids activities
  • serve food
  • light luminaries
  • set up event (includes luminaries, stage, seating, dining room seating)

Connect with us to help make the event a success!
