Now Seeking Board Member Applications

Join our team of passionate volunteers! We are seeking volunteer board member applicants who are looking to put their passion to work and serve others in our communities.

Why Join?

Kickin’ Cancer is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a subsidiary of the Redwood Area Communities Foundation. Our mission is to provide assistance to cancer patients with funds raised and distributed locally throughout Redwood County.

Being residents of Redwood County and knowing firsthand the difficulties that cancer can bring to your life, beyond the treatments, we raise money locally and spend it locally. The hard truth is that everyone's life has been touched by cancer in some shape or form. We want to assist our friends and neighbors as they go through this battle. We want our neighbors to know that they are not alone in this fight.

Board meetings are held 2-3 times a year; once in the fall after our main fundraising event, once in the winter and once prior to the main fundraising event. Additional meetings may be called as needed.

Board members are invited to attend meetings in person. Meetings are typically held at the Thrivent office in Redwood Falls.

The board of directors has 9 board members including a chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. There are also a number of board committees, Team Leads and volunteers that assist in bringing the board direction to fruition. Team Leads and volunteers are valued members of the team but are not board members.

Board members are expected to attend meetings adequately prepared, communicate openly and respectfully, and support the Chair’s efforts to facilitate an orderly meeting. Board members are expected to participate at the annual fundraising event as well.
